A native of Georgetown Guyana, South America, I am the first of three amazing siblings. At the age of 7, I migrated to the United States and lived in Brooklyn New York for over 18 years. There I was introduced to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was baptized into the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. I was blessed to be a part of several ministries which included outreach, women and children’s ministries. In 1989 I relocated to Miami Florida where God led me to another wonderful whole bible believing, Sabbath keeping church family.

Through the years I learned and grew in my understanding of the written word, but it was just a few short years ago when I accepted the living word of God and developed a personal relationship with the One that I’d been calling my Lord and Savior. I experienced, what I call an interrupted life. You see, sometimes God will put a roadblock in your path when your direction conflicts with the plans He has for you. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jer. 29:11. This text was hard for me to understand as my husband’s path changed and I found myself now raising our son on my own. But GOD! Whenever you read a “but God” in the bible, great things always follow.

I learned that after going to church for almost a lifetime I only knew “of” my parent’s God. It was now time to develop my own personal relationship with God. He was calling me by name into the light of His love. That was also when I learned that battles are won on your knees. I finally understood that my magnificent Heavenly Father, the Creator of heaven and earth, Ruler of the Universe, the Alpha and Omega, the one true God, the great I AM; loved me.

I am blessed to be a part of The Blue Line Angels Church outreach ministry where people are learning of the love of Christ and where living waters flow. I glorify Him and I’m grateful that He doesn’t treat me as I deserve. It is because of God’s great sacrifice, that I live in a state of “forgiven,” and by His stripes I am healed. I hold two texts dear to my heart:

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Phil. 4:13

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path. Proverbs 3:5,6.
